Cacao has a long history as a sacred plant medicine to reconnect with the mind, body, and spirit as well as the greater natural world. It is a gentle, heart-opening plant that supports deeper healing and connection-building.
The cacao used in ceremony is mindfully grown and prepared and so more potent than the over-processed chocolate one finds on a grocery shelf. We will brew up a drink of pure cacao and water, with optional sweetener and spices. The natural fat content of the cacao bean helps balance its naturally stimulating effects and facilitates absorption over an extended period of time.
Years ago, when we were living in California, I attended a ceremony that used Heartblood Cacao. In addition to being delicious, it was incredibly relaxing, and it facilitated a deeply satisfying connection to my soul purpose that is still hard to describe. Earlier this year I recalled the experience and began searching online for that same magic chocolate. Imagine my excitement when I learned that the folks behind Heartblood Cacao are based in Vermont!
In an era where CBD is taking the country by storm, I believe ceremonial cacao is not far behind. It opens the heart, expands one’s consciousness, relaxes the body and fosters connection (amongst other benefits).
On Saturday, October 26th, Moses of Heartblood will come lead a cacao ceremony at our farm. Whether you are experienced or brand new to this form of plant medicine, come join a small group of folks in a heart-centered gathering intended to cultivate self-awareness and a deeper connection to one’s natural surroundings. Come join us.
Limit 12 people.
Time: 2pm - 6pm
Eat a light lunch prior to attending. Please dress comfortably and bring a water bottle. If the weather permits, we will be outside.
