The Happy Tapper

We believe summer cocktails should be simple to make and refreshing to taste.  When we first came to Vermont we quickly discovered two of our favorite things, one of which is in this summer's box: sparkling maple seltzer. The other favorite discovery was maple liqueur. This cocktail combines both of them to create what we've dubbed:

"The Happy Tapper."

Combine 2 ounces of maple liqueur* with a dash of bitters.

Top with 3-4 ounces of Sparkling Maple Seltzer.

Add crushed ice and garnish with a wedge of lime.

Enjoy!

We've tried every version of "maple water" on the market. Short of tapping your own tree, we believe the one produced by the Vermont Sweetwater Bottling Co. is the best.

*Our favorite maple liqueur is by Green Mountain Organic distillery. We also like the one by Sapling, but it may be too sweet for some. In a pinch, a nice rye or bourbon will still taste delicious with maple seltzer.
